Guardian Angel community and HABC held a groundbreaking ceremony at the site where the new Church will be constructed. Archbishop Jose Gomez celebrated the ceremony, blessing of the grounds where the new structure will be built and the parishioners who are excited for this greatly anticipated Church.

St Joachim’s in Costa Mesa, was established in 1965 and started with simple facilities. The parish has grown and flourished, “We’ve known for some time that we needed a different arrangement for restrooms” says Director, Ree Taylor. After much fundraising within the parish and unforseen COVID-19 related setbacks the parish is now ready to move forward with the project and HABC has been selected for the project. HABC is so excited for this Parish and their new endeavor in expanding their community amenities. Below are some photos from the groundbreaking ceremony.

HABC team members displayed a large support beam in the courtyard over the weekend, giving parishioners the chance to sign it and add personal prayers. This personalized beam is now installed over the baptismal font area. The framing will be covered eventually but the structural beam will always include the prayers that parishioners hold close to their hearts.

HABC recently attended the groundbreaking at Our Lady of La Vang Church. This vibrant parish hosted a lovely ceremony to celebrate and bless the grounds that will hold the new construction for the community.  The project will include a new Parish Hall, and additions to the Administration Wing. HABC shares the anticipation and enthusiasm that the OLLV community has, and we look forward accomplishing this vision together.

This video features the site for the future Queen of Angels Seminary. Demolition, and new construction will turn this existing abandoned property, into a fully updated 17,000 sq. ft. retreat center with a new chapel, 42 living quarters, offices, classrooms, hydronic radiant heating system, two-story elevator and energy efficient cool roof.

Having started business in 1978, this year marks HABC’s 40th anniversary! Chris Hoffman, President and founder of HABC, hosted a festive brunch with all employees and their families. Everyone enjoyed a delicious Mexican meal, visited with coworkers, and took time to celebrate HABC – A construction company that embodies hard work, diligence, collaboration, respect and community. Cheers to another 40 years!
